Replacing carpet in your home is generally preceded by one of two observations.
Installing carpet on your own.
To install carpet start by nailing the tack strips to the floor using 2 nails for each strip.
Use the knee kicker to fit the carpet over the hooks in the carpet gripper.
Nail the strips 1 2 from the wall image 2.
Screw the carpet trim to the floor.

Once the padding is in place staple it down every 2 feet and duct tape the seams together.
If you wish to install your new carpet yourself measure the room for which it is intended before you buy the carpet.
Installation with kangatape or double faced carpet tape.
Install carpet transition strips at thresholds where carpet meets another type of flooring.
In most cases it is easier to pay a professional to install the carpet for you because you will end up with less hassle and a quality job in the end.
Cut the tackless strips to size with a strip cutter or heavy snips image 1.
To install carpet properly you need to start with a piece that overlaps the edge of the floor by four to six inches.
Seal the edge of the carpet with latex seam sealer to prevent unraveling.
Don t install tackless strips across thresholds or doorways.
Measure the threshold and cut the carpet gripper to length with a hack saw.
Next unroll the carpet padding from one side of the room to the other and slice it off with a box cutter.
Be sure to measure to the center of doorways and to the back of closets.
The overlay can then be trimmed so the carpet fits properly.
Maybe you ve decided you want a change in your home decor and installing new carpet to go along with the new furniture you re buying is on the top of your list.
